Aaron Patrick and the Classics
Aaron Patrick was born Patrick T. Holt on February 11, 1946. After graduating from Will Rogers High School in 1964, Aaron began his professional career as a commercial artist working for various ad agencies, one of which purchased a limousine once owned by Elvis Presley. Looking to capitalize on the Elvis impersonator craze, the owners noticed Aaron's resemblance to Elvis, but were taken completely aback when they heard him sing. A contract was quickly drafted, rehearsals began, and a show began to materialize.
After selling out several local venues, Aaron took to the road, where he eventually landed on the Vegas strip via the Barbary Coast. Aside from his headline status on the Vegas strip, Aaron toured the country playing various venues. After an impromptu performance at the Tulsa State Fair, which broke all attendance records for fairground performances at the time, Aaron received an offer to headline his own theatre in Branson, Missouri. After several successful seasons on the Branson strip, Aaron again took to the road working with traveling ministries such as Cecil Todd's Revival Fires Ministries, Larry Jones' Feed the Children and Dr. Billy James Hargis' Christian Crusade Ministries. Aaron played from Honduras to Russia, stopping briefly in Eureka Springs, Arkansas to do another successful theatre run.
Aaron Patrick retired from performing professionally after more than twenty years on the road. Occasionally, Aaron would be asked to perform at parties or when he held a service as a now ordained minister. After some encouragement from friends in the winter of 2008, Aaron decided to put together a Rockabilly Revival Show, something to showcase the songs he knew best from the 50's and 60's. Drafting in a local backing band, the Classics, Aaron took to the Tulsa club circuit with a vengeance. With a documentary film crew in tow, Aaron Patrick and the Classics played any and every venue that would hire them. Over sixty hours of footage was documented of Aaron attempting to reignite his career at 62 years of age.
In 2010, Aaron Patrick and the Classics rounded out their sound with Detroit's Jeni Rae on co-lead and backing vocals. The Classics may sound like 1953, but there's plenty of rocking and rolling left in the country's most authentic Rockabilly Revival band. Aaron Patrick was there when rock'n' roll was born and now he is breathing new life into some of the most definitive music of our time.
