Tim Shadley
Biography
Tim Shadley, pianist, trombonist, and arranger, has been working professionally in the Tulsa music scene since age 16. A graduate of Memorial High School, where his jazz performances won him statewide acclaim, Tim went on to study jazz improvisation on scholarship at the University of North Texas, learning from such venerable musicians as Dan Haerle, Fred Hamilton, and Mike Steinell. He received his bachelor’s degree in jazz studies from the University of Northern Illinois, where he studied with trombonist and arranger Paul McKee, guitarist and Blue Note recording artist Fareed Haque, and trombonist and arranger Joey Sellers.
Currently, Tim is an active member of several local bands including the Salsa Rhythm Project, the Jeff Shadley Group, and his own trio the Tim Shadley Trio. Tim has played and toured with the likes of Randy Brecker, Claudio Roditi, Carl Allen, Conrad Herwig, and Joanne Brackeen, and is a regular performer at the Oklahoma Jazz Hall of Fame.
The Tim Shadley Trio was formed in 2006 to explore improvisational music and original composition. This progressive attitude has made the trio one of the most popular small groups in the area, performing regularly at Ciao Restaurant and the Brasserie. The Tim Shadley Trio is also one of the most sought after backing groups by vocalists, performing regularly with Olivia Duhon, Jeff Shadley, and Annie Ellicott.
